Within Diesel and Electric Modellers United, there are now many Area Groups operating, set up to promote the aims of the society at a more local level, attending smaller events, as well as manning roadshow stands at some of the larger exhibitions too and just having a good laugh.
Recently, an area group was set up for any DEMU members living close to the South Coast, founded by Kevin Prince, Andy Jupe, John Dedman, Pete Hollman and myself. If you live roughly in Hampshire/Sussex/parts of Surrey and you a member of DEMU then you're most welcome to join.
If you're not yet a member of DEMU, you may wish to look at their homepage, it costs £18 a year to join, you do not even have to be an active modeller, in return you receive four UPDate magazines, reduced entry to certain exhibitions around the country, and can benefit from the knowledge and experience of hundreds of modellers via the excellent DEMU Forum.

Above: Some of the interesting things we get up to as a group, apart from meeting up at exhibitions, also includes going on visits to see the prototype. This was 57008 at Southampton Maritime depot, seen during a previous SCAG meet-up.
